This is a little long, but quite dramatic, and another frog actually does help rescue this frog from the snake!

…spotting in the pond below my balcony about 30 minutes ago.

Not a snake nor a legless lizard — and definitely not a worm. This is a caecilian — an entirely new family of amphibians!  Read more on the National Geographic website.

I spotted this guy hiding in the dirt at a botanical center last weekend.

Put a starving frog in front of video ants, and this is what you get.

Not sure where this came from, but I love it.

I only have two comments about this video: 1) That wasn’t a water moccasin. You can tell by the head that it wasn’t a poisonous snake. 2) Even if it had been poisonous, it’s still a vital part of the ecosystem, and all the driver had to do is pull over and let it crawl [...]
